The Farallon class was a type of inteceptor developed for Starfleet in 2372.
She was an outbranch of the project to find a sucessor to the Danube class runabouts.
A quick, high powered vessel for scouting, intecepting and boading vessels or space stations.
She could maintain warp 9.94 for three hours with her four warp nacelles, and reach .96c impulse.
She could carry 18 passengers, normally 2 squads of Marines for boarding or security operations.
The USS Farallon was launched from the San Fransisco Fleet Yards in April of 2373 and began shakedown tests in the Sol System.
Due to the resource scarcity during the Dominion War further production of the class beyond the initial four vessels was suspended until 2376.
The class was named for the Farallon Islands off the coast of San Fransisco.
