Galaxy class
The Galaxy class was a type of heavy cruiser serving in Starfleet during the 24th century.
It was actually the second class of starship to bear the name.
Its three shuttlebays normally held 25 shuttlecraft and a dozen shuttlepods, in addition to a Captain's Yacht. Starting in 2369 Danube class runabouts were added to some Galaxy's auxiliary craft.
In 2370 Jean Luc Picard returned from an alternate timeline and gave details of future upgrades to the Galaxy class, among them was a third nacelles.
