The USS Gandhi was an Ambasador class Heavy Cruiser that served in the Sixth Fleet's 101st Tactical Wing during theDominion War.
In 2369, the Gandhi was assigned to perform a terraforming mission in the Legana Sector. In this year, Lieutenant

Thomas Riker was assigned to the Gandhi following his recovery from Nervala IV. (TNG episode: "Second Chances")
By 2371, the Gandhi, under the command of CaptainAzon Lexen, had completed a terraforming mission and was assigned to a patrol of the Demilitarized Zone. In this year, Lexen ordered Riker to deliver medical supplies via shuttlecraft to Outpost Sierra III. However, Riker and the supplies were captured by the Maquis to help combat a new outbreak of the Double Helix virus. Following the development of a cure, Riker decided to remain with the Maquis. (TNG - Double Helix novel: Quarantine; DS9 episode: "Defiant")
