The USS Lakota was an Excelsior class cruiser serving in Starfleet during the 24th century.
Engineer Aliok once did a cold restart of the ship's warp engines.
In 2372 the ship was the first of her class to receive a set of major upgrades, including quantum torpedo launchers
Dominion War[]
During the Dominion War, the Lakota served in the Sixth Fleet as a security escort for the fleet's flagship USS Valdemar and was under the command of Captain Irel.
She was lost in 2375.
She would later be replaced by an Akira class heavy cruiser.
