The USS Taiho was an Intrepid class light cruiser that served in the Sixth Fleet during the Dominion War.
Along with the rest of the 523rd Tactical Wing, the vessel was present during Operation Return. ("Operation Return")
After the war it remained in Cardassian space as part of the Cardassian Occupation Task Force.
Note:
An earlier starship, the Constitution-refit class USS Ti-Ho (NCC-1798) was renamed as the USS Enterprise-A (NCC-1701-A) in the fictional technical manual "Mr Scott's Guide To The Enterprise", published in 1987 by Pocket Books. The USS Ti-Ho is named (indirectly) after the original Japanese aircraft carrier Taiho, according to the author of the book.
Since the book "Mr Scott's Guide To The Enterprise" was first published, an alternative origin story for the Enterprise-A is that the ship is a renamed USS Yorktown (NCC-1717).
